Lisa Heaney has been doing stand-up comedy in the valley for a few years. During that time, she has entertained a variety of audiences from as small as 10 up to 600. She has lived in the Phoenix area for over 12 years, but is originally from New Jersey where she was born and raised by a hippie artist and an FBI agent. In order to escape her dysfunctional family (can you get any more bipolar than that??) dynamics and find her true self, she flew to Phoenix on a round trip ticket and never looked back. When asked if she misses her home state, she says "Yeah, like a hole in da head." You can take da girl outta Joisey, but you can't take the Joisey outta da girl. She worked a number of customer service jobs but kept getting fired for having an "attitude problem".
She fell in with a bad crowd called the Agents of Aberration. They were a local improvisational comedy troupe with no rules, no boundaries and lots of nutty ideas for making people laugh. She performed with the troupe for two years, but they broke up and she hopes to one day "get the band back together", so to speak.
She took a stand-up comedy class at Phoenix Community College and has been hooked on doing stand-up comedy ever since. She says that stand-up comedy is much cheaper than therapy and sure beats getting up early in the morning.
Lisa shares her life experiences with the audience in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. She talks about issues that all of us can relate to: relationships/dating, dysfunctional families, children, exercising, stupidity, neighbors, stupid people, marriage, stupid people, boob jobs, pets, jobs, etc...
